Many thanks to Doug Ruckel for installing the holiday decorations at Parliament and Queen Vic. Doug volunteers each year, and the new red ribbons and lights at Queen Vic look great. SOCIAL: Ted Lindsley ted.lindsley@invene.com ·ROSP Christmas Golf Event. Weather permitting, the 4th annual ROSP Christmas Golf event is scheduled for the weekend of 12/17 and 12/18. The City of Plano party trailer is reserved, so we’ll have plenty of seating, and my heater reaches out front. The usual activities like holiday cocktails and cookie exchanges are planned. I’m planning Frisbee Golf this year so we can loop a bigger part of the neighborhood. More information is coming soon. BOOK CLUB: ·The December Book Club Event is Sunday evening, December 4. The hosts are Bernadette and Jim Olson, 4616 Brook Meadow, 5:00-8:00 pm. The book is “Life is in the Transitions” by Bruce Feiler, and spouses/significant others are invited. Bring a bottle of wine to enjoy with appetizers and non-perishable food items for donation to The North Texas Food Bank. Watch the YouTube video of Mr. Feiler’s Ted talk. OTHER NEWS: ·A founding neighbor Harry Alberts passed away peacefully on November 7. He has lived on Parliament Lane since 1991. Our condolences go out to his children, Lindsey and Alex. A private service will be held for Harry at Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn at 11:30 am, December 3, 2022. Instead of flowers, donations can be made to his favorite charity, Teen Cancer America. ·Short-term rentals. Plano to consider short-term rental registration, the inspection process ·We had a breach of our wall on Ohio Street. The good news is that Plano has cleaned up the bricks. The City of Plano will schedule and pay for the repair of the wall. Get the “Fix It Plano” app to connect with the City of Plano.
